• What do Garra Rufa fish do? This special breed of fish is actually attracted to the pulse in your body.  As soon as you put your feet into the water, these fish start swimming around your feet looking for the source of that vibration they feel in the water.  While they’re brushing against your skin, the light sensations from their bodies and fins create a very relaxing experience.The feeling you get is similar to bubbles surrounding your feet.  If you could imagine putting your feet inside nice warm champagne, it feels a lot like that.  But the best way to understand how great it feels is just to try it out.  With it being such a unique feeling, it’s hard to compare it to anything else!

• Is There Any Pain In The Experience? Because these fish have no teeth, the experience is 100% free of pain. We have children as young as four do the fish spa within our locations just about every day.

• Do you feel a benefit from your Garra Rufa Fish Spa Experience?  The majority of our guests have mentioned that they’ve experienced softer feet as a result of the fish spa experience.

• How clean is the water? The tank actually goes all the way to the back of the chair. What you don’t see is a second part of the tank that houses our patented filtration system. Our equipment sterilizes the water to kill any bacteria using UV sterilization and filtration. The water goes through a carbon chamber to remove any visible debris in the tank, and our filters cycle the water at nearly 600 GPH. This means that the water you put your feet in changes more than four times while your feet are in there. This is much more clean, sanitary, and efficient than if we could change the water between each guest.

• Is The Experience Safe?  According to the CDC excerpt below under proper conditions Garra’s Fish Spa experience is safe. We use a 5-step filtration and UV sterilization procedure that keeps our water crystal clear and which is why we have maintained a 100% safety record.

One study has illustrated the effectiveness of fish pedicures in the treatment of psoriasis; however, this treatment was performed in a controlled setting at a medical university in Austria, not at a nail salon. 2.
