Watching a movie on the big screen makes audience members feel like they’re really there with the characters, especially during climactic popcorn-eating scenes. Chew and view with this Groupon: for $15, you get a movie outing for two at Gateway Film Center (a $30 value). The outing includes:

Gateway Film Center screens independent films and major Hollywood blockbusters through a digital projection system that fills silver canvases with crisp, high-definition images. Classic and contemporary motifs unfold as couples curl up on plush seats to witness the paranormal history of The Innkeepers and the tale of self-destruction in Tyrannosaur, which collected three awards at the Sundance Film Festival. Stars routinely light up the screen, accelerating the search for straw openings and popcorn kernels lost in neighbors’ shoes. Though they are not included in this Groupon, moviegoers can also avail themselves of the beer taps and stemmed glasses of the Martini Shot Bistro and the $1 parking at the South Campus Gateway.

Our customers loved this deal last year, earning Gateway Film Center a spot on Groupon’s Best of 2011 list.

Gateway Film Center

Even though the crimson neon sign recalls that of a classic movie theater, the stadium seating and digital-projection system of Gateway Film Center point toward a modern polish. The same can be said of the cinema’s choice of films, a mix of classic pictures, arthouse darlings, and Hollywood blockbusters. The film center is also home to The Torpedo Room, a new restaurant founded by Liz Lessner of Columbus Food League, along with popcorn, candy, and a full bar with more than 20 draft beers.

Customer Reviews

Great customer service and staff

Very nice movie experience. Theaters are clean, they sell food and you can park for only $1.00 right around the corner. Pay at the theater for parking. Also extremely friendly and locally owned.

I'd go all the time but I don't live in Columbus. The people that work there are super nice and smart. It's my favorite place to see a movie.
