Celebrate the crocodile, the swamp-dwelling muse for backup dancers, with today’s Groupon. For $10, you’ll get $25 worth of grub and guzzle at Gators Croc & Roc Rooftop Restaurant, a retreat revered for its rooftop patio and wall of icy libations.
Round up your hungry hatchlings and start with southern specialties such as fried green tomatoes ($6.99) or fried pickles ($6.99). The menu—loaded with American, Tex-Mex, and Cajun entrees—has options to please any palate. Try the namesake fried gator, crispy cuts of croc served with french fries and spicy dipping sauce ($14.99), or on the lighter side, the bikini beach salad, packed with pineapple, avocado, and almonds ($9.99).
Eclectic touches—teal-hued bar stools, paper-mache alligators, a wall of slushy spirits, thousands of real alligators—lend an energetic ambience to the West End eatery. Its famed rooftop, splashed in vibrant Crayola colors, plays host to performers, pianists, and country crooners. Check out the calendar for upcoming events. It's the perfect place for pre-game eats (there's a free shuttle to almost all Stars and Mavs games) or pre-marriage parties.
Note: You may use your Groupon for happy hour and lunch and dinner specials, but you cannot combine your Groupon with other coupons or discounts.

Alligators vs. Crocodiles: The Truth
Alligators and crocodiles, despite their many similarities, are not that closely related and actually belong to different families. Here are some of the differences between the two species:
Crocodiles have functioning salt glands in their tongues, while alligators have special glands that allow them to appreciate irony.
Alligators have wide U-shaped snouts, while crocodiles have advanced reasoning capabilities that make them ideal police detectives.
Crocodiles have dermal pressure receptors covering almost every scale on their bodies, while alligators are the only animals that are eligible to become Freemasons.
Alligators’ upper jaws completely overlap their lower jaws, while crocodiles totally have a crush on you but you think you and crocodiles are better as friends.
