What You'll Get
Lombrices (Worms) tells the story of Martirio and Consuelo, two elderly women secluded in an apartment building. They live in a parallel world saturated with delusions and nostalgia, oblivious to what's going on right outside their door (including a building fire). Between contacts with wandering spirits and a confession of forbidden love, they spend their lives playing a morbid game: Pretending to murder each other using plots from famous Hollywood movies. Ana Ilvento Scuseria and Claudia Soroka star in this biting Spanish-language production. The hilarious black comedy -- penned by award-winning Argentine playwright Pablo Albarello -- has hit stages from Mexico to Spain to Bolivia. Now, Houston-based theater company Gente de Teatro brings Lombrices to L.A.'s Macha Theatre.
