About George Hill Orchards

George Hill Orchard is a family-run educational farm that was once the private golf course of the famous Thayer family. The farm neighbors some of the mansions that were once their summer homes, featured in movies like "Little Women" and once hosting actors like Michael Jackson and Elizabeth Taylor. The land was converted into apple orchards in the early 1900s and later expanded to grow blueberries, peaches, nectarines, apples, and pumpkins. Over 150,000 school students have visited the farm to learn about apple production and enjoy hayrides, fresh cider donuts, and apple cider. The summer months offer a peaceful time to visit before the apple picking season begins. With over 20 varieties of blueberries across three patches, visitors can savor the flavors and sights of the farm.
