What You'll Get
Riding a bike makes an eco-friendly alternative to driving a car, much like making wine is a better use for grapes than setting them on fire. Pedal your way to ecological innovation with today's Groupon: for $149, you get a Sip 'N Cycle tour for two from Getaway Adventures (a $298 value). Guests can choose from Sip 'N Cycle tours in Healdsburg, Calistoga, and Napa. Tours take off seven days a week, departing at 10 a.m. and returning around 3:30 p.m.
Sightseers and wine lovers pedal along Getaway Adventures' eco-affectionate bike tours enjoying the picturesque landscape around local wineries peppered across northern California. Tour-goers are adroitly outfitted with helmets before settling onto the comfy gel seats of Marin Hybrid bikes and embarking on their placid sojourn down country lanes lined with emerald grape vines and dried-out raisins reminiscing about their youth. Throughout the day, guests will visit three to four intimate world-class wineries that may include Chateau Montelena, Cuvaison, and Lava Vine where they can sniff, swirl, and sip vintages made with the area's standout varietals (tasting fees not included with today's Groupon). Each of the three tours will visit different wineries located in the Dry Creek Valley, Carneros, or northern Napa Valley regions.
Winery tours, barrel tastings, and food pairings often accompany outings, and every rider receives a packed picnic lunch of breads, meats, and cheeses to scrumptiously underscore fetching views of the vineyards. Expert tour guides amicably impart anecdotes and grape-centric wisdom along the way, ending each tour with a test to see if someone can pull out the famous Cork in the Stone and be named the once and future King of California.
