Before the world was overrun with Nintendos, PlayStations, and Xboxes, Atari consoles stood alone as the best source of arcade-style thrills to be had without leaving home. This retro console is designed to serve as a nostalgic reminder of a forgotten era of gaming, when chasing high scores in Centipede meant more than graphics or narrative. Using the two wireless controllers included with the console to play 92 built-in games, players can compete to see who can vanquish more space invaders, destroy more asteroids, or figure out what in the world is going on in Tempest.

This brings me back to the old days. However, it's far from perfect. Yes, there are many games, but some of the best ones are omitted (PacMan, Donkey Kong, etc.) I enjoy playing Space Invaders and Missile Command, but some of my favorites, like Breakout, are no fun to play because the control is so touchy that you only can hit the "ball" by accident.
The games were not the originals but later copies. The wireless controllers worked poorly, making the games difficult, if not impossible to play. I purchased plug in controllers separately so I could play but they lacked some of the button provided in the wireless controllers making it difficult to choose the games.
I purchased this set for my grandchildren to play when they visit. They were thrilled with the old games, which did not duplicate the newer systems they have at home, so it was a new experience for them. The adults also enjoyed playing the games which they had played as children. The set up was easy, even for a non-techie such as myself.
