The Skechers Gowalk Activity Trackers did get me interested in tracking my activities however it did not accurately reflect my participation in various activities. It worked fine for an activity such as walking my dog. It likely would work well with running. It did not work well with my participating in other activities such as badminton or tennis. The sleep application only registered the time I was in bed and if I got up during the night. It did not even closely reflect the time I was actually asleep. I ended up purchasing a Garmin which was not much more expensive, is waterproof, doesn't need to be charged, and is more accurate with registering my activities and monitoring my sleep. It also tells me when I've been sitting too long. I also don't need to remove it when I have a shower. The Skechers GoWalk application didn't work properly when I initially purchased it, it kept freezing and wouldn't allow me to input personal data, however, that seems to have been corrected with the latest release. In any event, it got me interested in trackers generally and I initially had some fun with it, however, I didn't think it lives up to its online description.
I only gave it one star because I couldn't give it a zero! However, to be fair, the description of the item is INCORRECT on this device!!! I have an older iPod 5th generation which is listed as a user. However it is NOT! I haven't bought a activity tracker because of of that very reason and was excited to read that this was able to use my older model iPod. However, once I opened the package, tried to download the app and such, I could not. My hopes are because I didnt know until AFTER I opened the package, that I am able to get a full refund and the company will honor my request. We'll see. I am disappointed. Seemed like a great deal for something that I really was excited to use :(
I have have been using this GOwalk for a few months now. At first I had problems with the app, then I guess they upgraded it or something & it started working. The downfall to this product is 1) it has a very thin vinyl/rubber coating on it, mine has already got 3 breaks in it & a piece of it gone, so it will not stand up very well to wearing it all the time 2) The way it buckles onto you arm is horrible, it just has 2 little stubs that go into little holes, IT IS NOT A BUCKLE TYPE, and after taking it on & off a lot (for bath's, washing dishes, etc), the holes tend to loosen up 3) The way it latches is horrible, every time I catch it on something, the GOwalk falls of my arm 4) I didn't see anywhere in the instructions that it was waterproof.
I was very hopeful after reading reviews on this product. However, after an 8 hour waitressing shift, it only showed 5 minutes of activity. Anyone who's ever waitressed can tell you that it should have shown 8 hours of activity!! (As a waitress, you NEVER stop!) I waitressed several times wearing the band and it always showed the same lack of activity.
I also went ziplining one day while wearing it. It was a course of 27 ropes obstacles along with 7 ziplines. Again, it only showed a few minutes of activity.
I guess you get what you pay for.
It doesn't even work. I'm so upset. I feel like I wasted $40. I followed the directions, read the manual and after many attempts finally got it to work for 2 days. After that it hasn't worked. The lights on it says its on, but it doesn't collect the data and even when it says that it has connected with my phone through the blue tooth connection no info uploads. I definitely will NOT recommend this product to anyone no matter what kind of sale it is on!!!!!
This product is OK, but not great. It'll keep track of your activity, and you have to re-sync it with your phone each time you want an update, and that's fine. But when I try to share my results on Facebook, the only thing that posts is a comment window - not my stats, and I'm not happy about that! Also, does not detect sleep patterns, only tells you how long you slept. The accuracy of those results seems questionable.
The product performs ok, but the app is very confusing. Please be advised this product requires bluetooth and a link to a smartphone. Your progress will appear on the app once you sync it. However, you have to keep syncing it for any updates and this can be a bit annoying. It is not like the Nike Fuel bands where you can just press a button and get immediate stats on your calories, steps, or time.
For the price this item is great for what I need it for. It tracks my steps, activity level and sleep. I've used it for 10 days so far and have not seen any issues. The charge holds for 5+ days. I would recommend this to someone looking for a tracker wristband that doesn't want to spend the $100+ the other companies charge. I love my Gowalk.
This works great with iPhone 5s. When I read the reviews, I was concerned about making the purchase, because they aren't very complimentary, but it's been great. My husband has a Fitbit, which costs a lot more, but he likes the app for my Skechers much better. I have no complaints about this product at all.
Good item for the price. Easy to use once you read instructions and practice a little. My only complaint is that if you are doing more aggressive physical activity, ie. work, it will unsnap and fall off.
