I bought 3 of these lights with intent to use outdoors. After receiving all 3, I installed batteries in one of them and it wouldn't work (light wouldn't come on) unless you giggled the batteries. So I thought perhaps our batteries were bad as the same thing happened with the second light. Went out and bought new batteries; used them in all 3 lights with poor results. Not one of 3 lights worked. I can see perhaps one or maybe two lights being defective, but for all 3 lights to behave in the same way tells me the product itself is worthless, a good idea with poor execution. Groupon was great. Even though I had exceeded the allotted 2 weeks time to return, they allowed me to return this product almost a month after receipt of purchase. Groupon is great, and dealing with them is top notch. They even sent a clever email telling me that this product was sent to the land of the misfit items. Hopefully, this manufacturer will be made aware of the situation or that groupon will no longer have any dealings with them.

I love my motion activated lights (MAI)...when I can find one that works. My wife and I are in our late 70's and make 2 or more trips to the bathroom during the night. This means walking through another bedroom in the dark. Not any more! The MAI come on and light the way for us! They give just enough light to clearly see the way but not enough to wake a sleeping partner. Now I have them in every room in the house, so I can navigate at night with no concern for stubbing a toe. The problem is that out of every 10 lights you order there will be AT LEAST 3 that won't work properly. They will either come on and stay on until the batteries run down, or they won't activate by motion at all. So, it's a gamble any time you buy them. Great when they work...annoying when they don't.

Purchased two and neither functioned as advertised. One had problems with sensing motion and if it did light, it din;t shut off so the batteries ran out quickly. The second functioned as promised for about a month but after that did not sense motion and turn on consistently, eventually not turning on at all despite new batteries. Definitely junk category!
I thought this would be a great idea for a friend so I purchased it. Unfortunately, it does not work. He put batteries in, and turned it on. The light came on and went out, as expected. However, it never went back on again. He could not get it to work. It detected no motion at all. The worse part is that I did not give it to him until after the allowed time for RETURNS on Groupon. I bought it far in advance of when I knew I would see him. I bought it on faith that it would work. So he gave it back to me and I am out that money. Lesson learned.
The product does not have the quality I expected. The battery connections were not making. I had to bend out each connection with a small flat head screwdriver a little bit to make the lights work. This had to be done with each light of the three I purchased. Also the light head was so heavy once the batteries were installed that the positioning cogs wouldn't hold the light in the position I selected. I had to add some glue to make it stay. Not so sure I would use these outside unless they are well protected from the weather. I will use them inside.
Nice little light, but battery life is an issue. The light activates whenever it detects movement, even during daylight hours, which shortens battery life. I have it mounted on my front porch and need to change the batteries about every two or three weeks. If mounted where you can reach it, you can switch it off during the daytime and back on at night. If not, rechargeable batteries might be an option as long as the warranty allows it. All in all, I have been happy with it. The light would probably work best and last longest in sheds and closets. The brightness is so-so, but sufficient enough to light up my front door from about twelve feet away.
Purchased one of these lights and wished we had purchased more! I absolutely love it!
Do hope it becomes available again.
It is very cool, allows me to save on light in my laundry room at night time when I am passing thru to get to other rooms. I have them in my hallway to keep from turning on the light for even a second. I have one at my entrance to front door so when I come in at night I can still see and not turn on light in the whole room to wake people. Read that they could be used for outside use but may try my garage door entrance. Don't think it can withstand extreme cold & hot temps.
Even with 12 LED's, the light is not nearly as bright as advertised, changing the batteries is cumbersome because the battery compartment has to be unscrewed, and the sensor is ridiculously sensitive and will turn on the light if a flea hops by. Overall, very disappointing. The light might be useful in a small closet but is pretty much worthless for use outside. On the positive side, the light position is easily adjustable through a wide range of positions. Lots of wasted potential with this one.
The light has a motion sensor, but does not have a day/night sensor, so it turns on when you walk by in the daytime. The light stays on for a very short time and there is no way to adjust that. While it says indoor/outdoor, it feels cheap, flimsy, and light, so I suspect it wouldn't last long in outdoor elements. I can imagine it being great in specific scenarios, like in a dark hallway where you only want light as you're walking by and the hallway is dark all the time. Otherwise it's not that useful.
