All-Natural Himalayan Crystal Salt Cooking Tile
The Nitty-Gritty of Salt Tiles
Natural salt is found in evaporated sea beds where it gets compressed over time into solid slabs of rock with all the minerals structurally intact. These salt tiles were carved from the Himalayas, where trace elements and iron are present and contribute to the tiles’ natural pink coloring.
A Novel Kitchen Addition
Himalayan salt imparts a unique savory flavor when used for cooking and serving. When prepping for cooking, preheat the slab in a 400°F–500°F oven. Transfer it to a stovetop or grill afterward to sear seafood, steaks, and vegetables. Alternately, store it in the fridge and pull it out to serve cold appetizers, or keep it at room temp to present freshly cooked food for a lovely, all-natural display. Moist foods in particular, like a juicy steak, sushi, or cheese, pick up the extra flavors of the slab which simply can’t be had with a metal serving tray or wooden cutting board.
Easy to Maintain
A salt slab that’s properly taken care of can last many years. After it’s been used to serve or cook food, simply wipe it down with a damp cloth and store in a cool, dry place for future use.
