Q:

What is "white down." Is that a man-made material, goose down, feathers, what??? Thanks.

rachel b.  asked on  Feb 8, 2013

A:

White down refers to the color of the down that comes from the bird. It is the cleanest/purest color to have. Some ducks/geese are not white, some are gray some off white. So this is a clean white duck filled comforter.

Q:

1) What does '575 fill power' mean?, and 2) '75% white down', what is the other 25%? Thank you, Nick.

nicholas d.  asked on  Feb 9, 2013

A:

Fill power is basically the fluffiness of the down. The higher the fill power the fluffier the comforter.
The percentages are federal requirements, due to the different variables in the manufacturing process, it is impractical call it 100% down, so federal law states that to call a down comforter down, it must have a minimum 75% down fill. This is why you see it stating 75% minimum.
