Commonly Asked Questions

Q:

What's the strength of the glycolic solution?

Cristina C.  asked on  Apr 8, 2013

A:

Fusion Peel doesn't exactly break down into exact percentages of each of the acids. It works based on the combination of ALL of the exfoliants, therefore it would be "equivalent" to a Glycolic 40%.

Q:

will my face appear red after use and will i actually see my skin peel?

karen k.  asked on  Apr 11, 2013

A:

It is possible that your skin may be red immediately after the peel, however it should not last more than 1 hour. The Fusion At Home peel will shed at a superficial layer, so you might see some flaking. Most shedding will be small clumps of skin that are not very noticable, but they are coming off.

Q:

Will this work on skin that has been wrinkled for years, I am 55 years old?

Kay D.  asked on  Apr 10, 2013

A:

Of course! But it is important to keep in mind that the longer the wrinkles have been there, the longer it takes to correct. This is not a "one shot fix all" type of peel. It is designed to be used on a regular basis (based on your skin type and tone plus age) showing improvement with every treatment.

Q:

how long does skin retain the benefits of this product? is it necessary to use product for an infinite length of time to maintain skin integrity?

dolores l.  asked on  Apr 10, 2013

A:

Superficial chemical peels do need to be performed on a regular basis to maintain benefits. The frequency of application will be dependent on your age, skin type and tone, and the issue you are trying to correct. Only very deep peels that are performed by a doctor under anesthesia maintain results for a significant amount of time without requiring additional treatments.

Q:

What age is it for?

Alevtina M.  asked on  Apr 10, 2013

A:

Chemical peels can be used for a range of ages. The At Home version is less aggressive than our medical grade, so it does allow for a younger client to utilize. Processing times and frequency of application will be dependent on the how young or aged the user is - less time on the skin and less frequent for younger users and longer time on the skin and more frequently for mature users.

Q:

What is the best time of day to use this peel? How frequently should it be used? Should I put on moisturizer following the serum? Thank you.

Elizabeth O.  asked on  Apr 9, 2013

A:

It is best to use the peel at night so that the skin can rejuvenate more efficiently while you are sleeping. Normal, dry, or combination skin types may benefit from applying a cream or lotion moisturizer over the serum. Moisturizer with sunscreen should be used during the day.

The peel can be applied as often as every 14 days. The serum can be used every day AM and PM.

Q:

Is the 1oz of each good for more than one use or once the bottles are opened the active ingredient begins to degrade?

margaret a.  asked on  Apr 8, 2013

A:

Each product is good for more than one use. The product maintains full efficacy for entire 2 year shelf life. Over time, a slight darkening of the color is normal and expected due to the natural ingredients.
