While the blackout curtains in general fit the description, they were very flimsy and not well made. Strings were hanging off the curtains when they arrived. They were not as full as similar curtains bought at stores. I guess you get what you pay for. I had to order another set because the first set I purchased were not full at all. The pictures show full hanging pleats, but the curtains were not heavy enough to fall in pleats.

The 'backing' on these curtains is apparently some kind of latex? that is sprayed onto the \"silk\" fabric to act as a room darkening cover, but the backing doesn't coat the back of the fabric evenly, so from the silk side of the curtain, you can literally see little pin holes where the light comes through!! Furthermore, the backing makes the curtain fabric extremely stiff--the curtains don't hang from the rod gracefully, but rather stick out like tent material or a tarp would if you hung that from a curtain rod. One of my panels also had a 1\" cut in it, as if during the packing process at the factory the curtain was cut with a boxcutter. Because I didn't hang my curtains immediately after I received them, I had discarded the shipping slip and decided to not bother with the hassle of trying to return them. Until I find a replacement for these, I'm using them, but they really look awful in my otherwise gorgeous guest bedroom.

This product does NOT have foam backing. It is NOT a thermal or black-out curtain, as I was expecting. The curtain is more like a cheap shower curtain with a very shimmery light wine-colored fabric on one side. Because they were not terribly expensive, I gave them to a friend, and went to Wal-Mart and Target and got some nearly-equally-priced thermal black-out curtains that are much thicker, and actually block light. Only buy these if you want some shimmery cosmetic curtains, not if you want curtains that block light or cold.

The curtains are the exact dimensions that were listed which are a little smaller than what I had seen in the store. Aside from that they are the same quality, lightweight but block out the light completely and half the price I would have had to pay! Great bargain. I live opposite a parking lot with bright lights and they have made a tremendous difference cutting the light at least 50%.

Over all the blackout curtains are great for blocking out light . They are of a good quality & look much more expensive when hung. The color is very nice & true to the photo. The only problem is in the original sale photo, 8 grommets are shown for each panel , this is incorrect ! There are only 6 ! This was a disapointment because a wider width & 8 grommets would hang much more professional looking & provide better coverage & more light blocking !

I purchased the taupe color and the curtains do not black out. It is thin and sunlight comes through still. In my opinion, it only blocks out maybe 80% of the sunlight, at most. So if you're looking for true blackout, do not buy these. One of the curtain panels have a 6 inch x 6 inch "12" handwritten on it with something that looks like chalk but unfortunately it does not rub off. Since I did not install the curtains right away, I did not notice it until after the return period passed.Needless to say, I was disappointed with this purchase. I have a set of blackout curtains I purchased previously from Ikea and the Ikea ones are 100% blackout but not these.

The foam backing material that actually blocks out the light came with several pinholes and tears in it. While small, they are extremely obvious against the rest of the drapes which do block out the light, and they are rendered almost completely ineffective. I had to use electrical tape to patch the holes which is unacceptable on a brand new product. But it was too late to return or exchange this product by the time I noticed this flaw.

In my first set the colors were off from one set to another, but I was happy to see them on sale again. Now I have enough for the front room and I don't mind that the bedroom curtains are slightly different. I also got the chocolate brown for another room. I still need to get the folds out. Many a light ironing. I love them. They save the heat by 20 degrees, from 97 outside to 74 inside.

The Bella Luna Blackout Curtains are a GREAT investment. Not only do they add beautifully to the decor of my bedroom, the blackout feature makes for a much more restful night's sleep. In addition, the added benefit of insulating against this summer's extreme temperatures means the curtains have all but paid for themselves. I highly recommend the Bella Luna Blackout Curtains. If they become available for purchase again via Groupon, I will be buying more. Thank you!!
