Q:

Can I use this tablet with bb message

Herbert a.  asked on  Oct 29, 2012

A:

Hi Herbert! Yes, you can bridge your Playbook to your phone and use BBM with this device.

Kristi D.  from  Groupon  replied on  Oct 30, 2012

Q:

2 questions. First I believe you spoke of using the blackberry bridge so a blackberry phone could be used?? The blackberry phone would still need carrier so why use the bridge. Or can this tablet us the bridge to use a blackberry's data connection? 2) This device can catch wi-fi but it does not have a card for data if no wi-fi is available? So if you take it with you, you could be severely hampered if no wi-fi is available?

sheryl p.  asked on  Oct 27, 2012

A:

On its own, the BlackBerry PlayBook is a high performance tablet. But for BlackBerry smartphone users there are additional benefits added to the PlayBook experience, like access to BlackBerry services living on the handheld. Get access to BBM (BlackBerry Messenger), email, calendar, contacts, memo pad, tasks from your BlackBerry smartphone--all on the large display. If you don't have a BlackBerry smartphone, you still get all the powerful features of the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet like the uncompromised web, true multitasking, stunning multimedia, and tons of apps. If you do own a BlackBerry smartphone you can realize additional benefits delivered by BlackBerry Bridge like access to your BlackBerry email and the ability to browse files found on your BlackBerry SD card--all right from your tablet. BlackBerry Bridge allow you to wirelessly connect your BlackBerry PlayBook tablet to your BlackBerry smartphone for a secure, enhanced view of core BlackBerry services on the tablet's large high-resolution display--including full email inbox (BIS and BES), address book, calendar, memo pad, task list, and BBM.

Does this tablet have the capability to create/edit word documents via a thumbdrive?

Eustace J.  asked on  Oct 27, 2012

A:

Hi Eustace! Documents To Go is available as an app, and it is possible to do basic word processing. Please remember that tables are considered as secondary devices, and if your student is doing a lot of work on Word or Excel, a tablet may not be the best option for them.
