I purchased this for me and my boyfriend (as a gift for him) so I could have a heart rate monitor in the gym. I have traditionally worn a garmin, but thought this would be a nice option without the heart rate belt, in the gym where the exercise equipment already monitors your other info like mileage etc. I was very disappointed to know you had to hold two fingers on the unit for nearly a minute before you could get a reading! This is not practical when you are needing your arms to keep balance or going very fast. Great Idea just not a great product in application. Doesnt work well at all.

I wanted a heart rate monitor that would be easy to use during a workout. I bought it be cause of the name; Bowflex designs and makes good equipment. This turned out to be a wrist watch with small numbers that to use it as a heart monitor, one has to hold one's young just right, involve several fingers in various combinations.... Towards the end of a hard work out all that I want is a device that shows what my heart rate is, as I am about to collapse, without having to do too many gymnastics. This gadget doesn't cut it.

I was unable to set split times for training purposes, just couldn't figure it all out. I did not like the fact that I had to stop running to place my fingers strategically on the metal to get a pulse. Finally, when I could not figure the watch out, I decided to call the two phone numbers given and heard back from no one. Perhaps if you had called with help all would be well? Unfortunately, I allowed the two weeks to pass before realizing I would need to send them back, so in light of the fact that I'd bought 3, two for gifts, I am out almost $50.00.

This watch looks nice, but the HR monitor does not work at all. I've managed to get 2 inaccurate readings sitting perfectly still and trying over and over. When you are moving or want a quick reading it's useless. The stop watch function cycles over and over up to 59:59 and doesn't keep track of the hours you are timing, so that function is useless to me as well, since I work out for 2+ hours frequently. It's also too large to comfortably wear on my 5'4" female frame. A waste of my money.

While it is true that you can take your heart rate with this product, it requires that you press two buttons on either side of the watch face for at least 5 seconds. Try to do that while running down the road! Or even walking on the treadmill. Add to that the fact that the light button must be held down pretty much continuously to see the reading when working out in the gym or other low-light situations. It is a fairly good watch, but for the purpose of taking a pulse, it did not meet my expectation.

Very plain watch. Well worth what I paid for it (I think $13) but absolutely not worth the list price of $129. But it is nice to have a way to take my pulse when I want to. It seems very accurate. Does not always give me a reading, but I have A-Fib and I think it may just be getting confused with the irregular rhythm. But all in all I like it and wear it all the time.

Versatile & stylish. I've bought several to replace the broken strap of the previous watch and always get a new color. It seems the rubber strap breaks due to taking the watch on & off frequently. But for this price, I'm okay with that. Besides it gives me something new to buy!!!

The heart monitor function is easy to use and accurate to a few bpm (i.e. good enough). It does have some trouble getting a reading in dry conditions (I live in an arid climate), but putting a little moisture under the watch and on your fingers fixes the problem striaght away. Clock and stop watch functions are easy to read and work how one would expect. I have not tested how rugged it is yet, but as I wear it every day, it is only a matter of time before I do. So far so good.

Hey for 12.99 and about 18 bucks with shipping. It works fine, 2 fingers or palm over watch face reads heart rate with in 8 seconds. Sure better exist but for the price works great, looks ok and it's well made. I going to buy a few for gifts...

It is not very easy to take your heart rate when exercising on a treadmill because you have to use both hands to get a reading. The fingers you use to take the pulse rate have to be quite moist in order to get a reading. Sometimes it takes much longer than the 4 seconds to get a read out. I think it is worth the price I paid ($12.00) plus shipping but no more.
