Q:

where doyou buy flushable litter

frank r.  asked on  Aug 30, 2013

A:

You can find flushable litter at most stores that sell litter including pet stores, grocery stores and big box stores. CitiKitty recommends Better Way Flushable Litter, Cats Pride Scoopable, World's Best Cat Litter (septic safe) and Swheat Scoop (septic safe). And of course please confirm the fine print on the litter packaging prior to use.

More Questions and Answers

Q:

Do you take away the litter box when you start this process?

Johnnie R.  asked on  Sep 4, 2013

A:

During the first step of the training you can leave 1 litter box out, but as you progress with the training it will need to be removed or your cat will continue to use it instead of CitiKitty.

Q:

is this reusable after training

frank r.  asked on  Aug 30, 2013

A:

The training inserts are not reusable. Once you move up a step you cannot go back. This is why an additional insert is included.

Q:

what % of 2 year old cats does this work for? right now one of our cat uses the bathroom sink when of course is gross...do you think we can switch him to this ?

debby  asked on  Aug 29, 2013

A:

CitiKitty works for any aged cat as long as they are healthy and litter-boxed trained. Cats that use the sink do so to avoid stepping in litter or using a dirty litter box.

Q:

How does this work for multiple cats?

Amanda G.  asked on  Aug 29, 2013

A:

CitiKitty recommends training your cats on the same number of toilets that you have litter boxes. So if your 3 cats share 1 litter box they can be trained on 1 toilet with one toilet training kit. During the first step of the training you can leave 1 litter box out but as you progress with the training they will need to be removed or your cats will continue to use them instead of CitiKitty.

Q:

Can citi kitty be used with older cats?

Chris Z.  asked on  Aug 29, 2013

A:

Yes, CitiKitty's founder and owner, Rebecca Rescate, first trained her cat when her kitty was 11 years old. The key is to be patient and move through the training at your kitties' pace and always at the slowest learner's pace in the case of multi-cat households. Also remain calm if your kitties have an accident and just move back a step if your kitties have more than one or two accidents on any given step in the training process. CitiKitty receives success stories from owners of cats of all ages on a regular basis. If you want to live litter free, give it a shot.
