it catches more of everything else, than mosquito's...added an octenol strip to attract..not much better, purchased a separate electric zapper to run at a different end of the yard..works better..but still have some some mosquito's around. its all relevant to how heavily populated they are I guess
I got the product a couple of weeks ago and it has trapped a lot of insects since then. I do feel bad though, because the trap seems really inhumane. Instead of killing the insects immediately, they just keep flying around in the bottom until they die of dehydration or starvation. It’s terrible.
Unit is bigger than I expected. That being said, I see a bunch of moths trapped in the bin. Not sure about mosquitoes though. It has only been plugged in for a few days. Only time will tell it’s true effectiveness.
Pointless...it attracted a bunch of bugs but didn’t trap many and no mosquitos were harmed. The fan is too weak to pull most of the flying bugs around, some of the beetles were kicked out by the fan since they were too big. A great many bugs near it but not trapped. After 96hrs running night and day we barely had enough bugs to cover the base, not fill it, just cover.
I purchased this about two weeks ago. I figured I would give it a chance because it came to the point in the evening I couldn’t sit on my patio without getting bit up. I had to try something. I found a perfect place to hang it 20 to 30 feet from my deck where I spend most of my time. So far so good. Time will tell. After a month or so I’ll write another review.
