We were initially skeptical because we had never had a portable air conditioner before. Thus far, it's been nothing short of awesome!
Even with just the fan setting the room is cool and comfortable. And it is not the loud wind tunnel we thought a portable device would be.
The AC arrived damaged but it works fine. The front panel is broken, including with pieces broken off inside, and won't snap back on correctly.
The AC does the job. It would be 5 stars if it didn't arrive damaged.
Right out of the box it was BROKEN. The drain plug on the back of the unit was hanging from a plastic strap. When I looked closer the drain was still threaded inside of the plug. I did turn the unit on for a minute just to see if it worked, but as everyone else said it is very loud.
I bought 3 of these units to help cool down the house during really hot weather.
We have an older home with boiler heat, therefore no duct work in the house.
Adding central A/C at this time is cost prohibitive.
One was placed in each bedroom we use and one in the living room.
We are very pleased with how well and quickly they cool down the room.
Their noise level is low.
We are very pleased with our low cost central A/C alternative.
The AC does not work! I turned it on and only warm air comes out. I talked to LG's customer service to try to troubleshoot it and they told me that it's probably a compressor issue and I will need to have a technician take a look. Why would Groupon sell a product that does not work from day 1? I can't return it because it has been more than 14 days since I bought it. Yes, I should have tested it within the 14 days but it wasn't hot enough for me to need an AC so I waited to set it up until I needed it. Needless to say, I had a sleepless night from not having a working AC on a hot night. This is very disappointing as I spent $288 on a worthless product and will now need to buy another AC.
