About Fendi

“Fendi is fur—and fur is Fendi,” brand designer Karl Lagerfeld admitted to The New York Times. In fact, the brand’s double-F logo stands for “fun fur.” Founded as a leather store in 1918, the Italian brand is known for luxurious materials and ostentatious style. Though the creative, colorful, over-the-top hippie style seems at odds with haute couture, Vogue captured the brand’s spirit when it called a Fendi bag “the ultimate boho status symbol.”

As the second generation of Fendi family members took over on design, their accessories landed roles in film and TV. Its iconic baguette bag—which won the Fashion Group International award—had a cameo on Sex and the City. In nearly every scene in The Royal Tenenbaums, Gwyneth Paltrow wears a full-length Fendi mink coat as character revealing as her angst-ridden expression. From a jacket layered with voluminous fur to sundresses with ultra-long fringed hems that resemble grass skirts, Fendi’s collection strives to surprise and delight.
