Q:

Can you pan left, right, up down, from your device? To see more or less is there a zoom? Also, can you set up more than one on a network and see all cameras at once on your device?

Ches G.  asked on  Jan 17, 2014

A:

It does not zoom. However, you can pan and tilt the camera using either your smartphone, or a PC you are viewing the camera on. You can even do this on a browser on your phone if needed, since there is a mobile access method to attain basic video feed and basic features, including pan and tilt. There is a free app on Apple Store under the name of "Foscam Viewer". You can add your camera to this app and pan/tilt the camera by swiping the screen. You can also use any third party apps like Live Cams Pro which also offer pan/tilt capabilities in an app. You can do all of this remotely away from home, as long as you have an internet connection on the device you are using. You can also set up multiple cameras.

Q:

Can you provide more detail in regards to viewing the live or playback video from a web browser? Is a website provided with package that includes this information?

brian b.  asked on  Jan 16, 2014

A:

Foscam cameras are "IP cameras" or "network cameras", which connect directly to your router and have their own built-in web server. You connect to this web server (an IP address) to view the camera from anywhere in the world, think of it like your own personal website URL. There would be instructions included, you could visit the Foscam site, and you would also have access to Foscam's technical support.

Q:

Is this unit weatherproof? Could I use as an outside cam to watch the kids outdoors?

Justin H.  asked on  Jan 14, 2014

A:

It is not weatherproof, but it is possible to place the camera under some type of eve or overhang when placing the camera outdoors. However, please note that doing this can void the warranty on the camera, so make sure that rain or other weather effects will not hit the camera.

Q:

What is the antenna for? What is the difference in getting the one with the antenna?

Lisa C.  asked on  Jan 13, 2014

A:

The 9dbi Antenna just adds more WiFi signal strength. It is recommended if you are using the camera more than 80ft from the WiFi router or if your WiFi router is weak/old.
