Be aware. Buying goods on Groupon is like playing a lottery.
This item arrived with the top plastic cover cut open (almost completely separated). What would be a logical thing to do in this case? Yes, to return the item and get a refund or a brand-new exchange. Good luck with that.
Though the fine print states “free return”, they give you run-around. Clicking on “Return Package” link brings you to the page with a message:
“Oops! Groupon Goods is temporarily unavailable or overloaded. Please try again in a few minutes. For more information, please visit FAQ.”
I see this message since last Friday when I attempted to return another item.
When you go to Contact Customer Support on the order page and then Continue With This Order, you will get another message:
“Unfortunately, we aren't able to accept a return for this item. Our records show that either more than 30 days have passed since you received this item, or the Fine Print indicated the item was not returnable.”
Neither of the statements is true. I received this item yesterday, and the Fine Print states Free Return.
If you go further and finally send them an email, you will receive an automated response saying that you will be contacted within 24 hours. Next day, after 24 hours are over, you get another automated email saying that they are very sorry that you haven’t been contacted yet and thank you for your patience. (I know it from my experience with another item that I am trying to return since last Friday, and I don’t see any reason to repeat it again with this item; I believe BBB is a better place to leave a complain).
The bottom line, if you like a lottery, you may try Groupon Goods.
