Q:

If you remove the two pieces of the mold and slide out the ball of ice, how is it different than ice coming out of a regular ice cube tray? How do the ice spheres water down drinks less than normal ice cubes? Do you keep the two mold pieces connected together while it is in your drink to eliminate the frozen ice from leaking water into the drink?

Sheri K.  asked on  Jun 20, 2013

A:

The size of the ice keeps the ice ball raised above the liquid allowing it to melt slower. Typically, ice is completely submerged in the liquid and melts faster as it tries to cool the beverage. You will take the ice out of the mold.

Q:

Are these reusable? If so, how do you fill it and how do you remove the ice ball.

Leah Y.  asked on  Jun 20, 2013

A:

Yes, they are reusable. They have two halves that slide together and form a ball shape mold. Once together, there is a hole in the top center of the mold that you can use to fill it with water. You will then place the water filled mold in the freezer. The bottom of the mold is flat so it can sit while freezing. Once frozen, simply remove the two pieces of the mold and you can then slide out the ball of ice.
