Fans of Dr. Seuss have another gem to add to their collection. Happy Birthday to You! flap book not only provides a delightful story but intrigues the reader to discover what is under the flaps. The colorful pictures provide many opportunities to have young readers predict what is happening before reading and also guess what may be behind the flaps. Early readers are able to identify sight words and the rhyming prose aides in sounding out words that may not be familiar. Although a “simple adaptation of the classic story” this flap book makes for an engaging, fun read.
I am including this book as part of the birthday gifts for young children. I think they will love the flaps as my own children did, and, of course, Dr. Seuss is so popular with youngsters of all ages. The books are lovely,
and will be a favorite of all the children who receive them.
