HP Pavilion 17.3” Laptop with AMD A6-6310 CPU, 4GB RAM, and 750GB HDD
A perfect work or family computer, this laptop gives you room to spread out documents and applications on its vast 17.3” display and power through tasks with its speedy quad-core AMD processor.
This laptop’s spacious 17.3” display gives you plenty of room to work, with enough space to compare two documents side-by-side or work in multiple applications simultaneously without having to hide any windows. That ample space extends to the full-size keyboard, which includes a numeric keypad for playing computer games and pretending your laptop is just a really big calculator.
Despite its sizable screen, this laptop is still easy to carry for its class thanks to a slim design that, at barely over 1” thick, fits easily into most backpacks. And with up to five hours of battery life, you can finish a project at a park or coffee shop without searching for a wall outlet.
Intuitive User-Focused OS
Windows 8.1 ensures that your favorite applications and important information are never more than a click away. That’s thanks to its customizable start screen, which keeps one-click buttons to launch most-used apps alongside live displays of at-a-glance info, such as the weather forecast or calendar notifications.

- Spec sheet
When iconic company HP was born in 1939, it was not in a gleaming laboratory or during a late-night study session at a prestigious university. It was in a 12’x18’ garage that contained only a workbench and a used drill press. University friends Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard sold audio equipment to Disney (which used them during Fantasia production) and became HP soon after. Their humble garage is now marked with a plaque bearing the title “Birthplace of Silicon Valley.”
HP’s innovations laid the groundwork for the Valley’s surge in technological advances. Between the creation of the first handheld computer, which connected to printers and cassette drives, and development of speedier 64-bit processing technology currently used by brands like Apple and Microsoft, HP cemented itself as an architect of current tech trends like the tablet and smartphone. It’s a community-conscious company, too; HP has donated to charity since 1940 and offers free recycling for all electronics, regardless of brand, at Staples.
