No it does not. The manufacturer found that professional stylists do not like this feature since it can turn off while using on their clients.

Q:

I am confused. Is this a curling iron, or hair straightener? The title is flat iron, but the description talks about curling.

Gloria A.  asked on  Feb 28, 2013

A:

This is a hair straightener but the rounded design allows you to create beautiful curls and waves. You should be able to find videos online.

Q:

What exactly is the glove used for? Touching the iron after use, or while using? I have never noticed any other flat iron requiring use of a glove. Please explain.

Teisha J.  asked on  Feb 28, 2013

A:

Professional hair stylists prefer to wear it because It helps with holding on to the iron from both ends. It also helps with the discomfort of touching the hot hair after gliding through the iron but its a not a must use item to flat iron the hair.

Since it doesn't work with damp hair, in order to straighten curly hair does it require blow drying first?

Evelyn T.  asked on  Feb 27, 2013

A:

It's recommended to either let it dry on its own or you can blow dry it.
