My apologies for the delay! The best answer the vendor can provide is a "maybe". Video Capture accesses analog capture devices through the Microsoft DirectShow drivers provided by the card's manufacturer. Some companies write better DirectShow drivers than others, and some do not include them at all. Sony Creative Software does not provide technical support for using our software to capture through an analog device.
if you are looking to purchase an analog to digital converter, make sure it is connected to the computer via Firewire cable! They do not support devices that connect to the computer via USB, HDMI, RCA, or any other ports or plugs. Those kinds of connections can lead to poor video quality, loss of audio, dropped frames, and other undesirable results.
While they don't recommend a particular capture device, do an online search of "FireWire capture device" to see the most recent capture devices. Take note that these devices are connected to the computer via IEEE-1394 port (also known as Firewire or iLink). Make sure that your computer is outfitted with a IEEE-1394 port, as this is the only DV capture method officially supported in Vegas.
