About IZOD

In 1930, Edward, the prince of Wales, commissioned Arthur James Izod to make shirts for every member of the royal household, down to the prince’s loyal pet guinea pigs. Izod, a tailor with his own London storefront, received the honorable order after only eight years in business. By 1937, the Izod brand had gone international. The business shifted its focus to sportswear, designing polos worn by French tennis player René Lacoste, Bing Crosby, and Sam Snead.
