coffee pods are not available in most stores for the Vue as they use a V cup rather than a K cup. If you purchase a K2V cup adapter, you can use K cup style pods, however Keurig may then void your warrantee as it is not a product Keurig makes or sells therefore they have not tested it with their machine. Unfortunately our machine quit brewing after 3 weeks. I called Keurig customer service and after quick trouble shooting, customer service decided it was not repairable and are sending us a new one. I rated the shipping as poor because it was slated to arrive on a Friday and was even on the delivery truck all day. When it did not arrive, I tracked it again and it was bumped to Monday.
No issues with the machine. The order came with variety of coffee cups. Set up was fine, quite easy actually. However, my only issue is buying the acual v cups coffees. No stores carry them except Bed Bath & Beyond. Even grocery stores dont have them. You can purchase some online but I think its a little inconvenient to wait for your coffee a few days instead of just getting it from the store and enjoying when you get home. Looking back, had I known this, I would've opted for the one that uses the K cup. If you break down cost wise, I think they all come down to the same amout maybe even cheaper, plus the added convenience of the coffee availabe at most stores. I guesss the promo got me good.
I HATED the normal Keurigs! But I ABSOLUTELY LOVE my Vue!! The normal Keurigs don't brew the coffee hot enough for me but the Vue has an option on how hot it can brew & brews up to 197 degrees F. The only issue I've had with the Vue is finding the V cups! They are of course available online and some retail stores such as Bed Bath & Beyond (they have the most options there), staples, office depot & sometimes even at Wal-Mart! I would love if they were readily available at the grocery store like the million K-cups they sell! Overall, I would buy it again! Unless of course I could find a Keurig that takes K-cups w/the same brewing options as the Vue! (hint! hint! Keurig makers!)
Older model Keurig (vue) using price (saving) it was originally when it came out years ago. Hard to come by refillable cups ( thought cvs generic would fit, but only for K cup/ newer models). K cup/brand is standard now. Feel that savings was deceptive and model is old, heavy, and somewhat obsolete, or soon will be as far as coffee cups (both one use and refillable). If I knew more about Keurig brands I would never have bought it. This is similar to selling a 2009 Plymouth new that was never used and stating that it should go for MSRP but you're getting a great savings because you take $500 of the MSRP. Obsolete models are never worth original price. Hard to get rid.
There are many problems with the Vue: 1) I bought this as a greener system then the K cup, but Vue cups are limited in selection.... you cannot get Vue cups in flavored decaf or unusual things like lemonade like you can with K cups; 2) you cannot buy an accessory to enable you to use your own coffee grounds in a reusable Vue cup, like you can with the K cup system; 3) Vue cups cannot be bought at ANY retailer... Your only option to obtain Vue cups is through Keurig.com. I imagine that there is going to a come a time very soon where Keurig will do away with Vue cups altogether and then I will have a totally unusable machine. I do not recommend that people buy this system.
When the Keurig Vue first arrived I was a little disappointed because it did not use K-cups. I soon discovered that the Vue cups are much better as they come with a filter and an easy to remove tab that lifts the filter from the plastic cup for recycling. The coffee tastes great and I can preset the time so the Keurig is ready when I get up in the morning. Amazon sells a reusable PBA free Vue cup to add your own coffee or use with a K-cup. Amazon also sells boxes of Vue cup flavored coffee at a discounted, affordable price. I love my Keurig and am happy with my purchase.
Be aware that this is a V cup not a K cup brewer. K CUPS DO NOT FIT. The good new is, they make adapters that accept the K cup and also have a filter cup that allows you to brew your favorite grounds. Very economical. So, you can use them all...Rumors say the V cup packaging is being phased out. If true, it's too bad. I hope they keep making them. But, like I said before, the adapters are available.Lots more features at a better price point. Plus the cups can be recycled (not K cups).
I purchased this item as a gift. It was an immediate success with all its different settings and samples that came with the bundle. I would recommend this version over the K-cup version due to everything that it does (regulating temperature for ice coffee is a huge plus). The only downside to the Vue system is the lack of available V-cup in stores. There is no problem finding K-cup; however, finding a V-cup pack may prove to be a little challenging. Overall I've heard nothing but wonderful remarks about the gift so I am pleased.
We are happy w/ the machine, but I did not notice that it was the "vue" which is a different lineof products that are not readily available at the grocery store or Wal-Mart. That is my fault and weare happy with the product, just wish I had read the fine print before purchase. We do like the water resivoir and the ability to make different size cups/strengths. Overall we are pleased.
I got this for my Husband and he loves it, I do too.
