Linksys AC1900 Dual-Band Wireless Router
Perfect for streaming HD video, online gaming, or downloading large files, this wireless router makes the most of your internet connection with high speed wireless-AC technology that provides up to 600 + 1,300MB/s transfer speeds.
Browse Faster Than Ever Before
Using the latest wireless-AC WiFi technology, this router lets you surf the web up to 4.3x faster than with previous-fastest Wireless-N technology, providing transfer speeds of 600 + 1,300MB/s across its two bands.
Make Stronger Connections
Rather than sending out WiFi signals in every direction, this router calls on beamforming technology to establish a direct connection with your computer. This ensures the fastest possible data speeds and less interference from other devices.
Wireless Printing and Storage
Print or share storage space wirelessly thanks to this router’s two USB ports, which let you plug in printers, scanners, USB hard drives, or other peripheral devices to make them accessible to any device on the network.
Wont connect to an older N150 card I have in my desktop computer. My phone, tablets, and laptops all connect without a problem and have very quite transfer through to internet. I recommend having a laptop handy to connect to and set up the router, if you're not direct connecting a computer to the router. I'd not only recommend this unit, but have bought another for my nieces.
The "quick set up guide"? Hardly Took me nearly two hours to get online! The router-specific wireless network and password provided on the guide were WRONG, and it took a lot of unnecessary troubleshooting to figure that out (FYI--just look at the underside of the router; don't know why the guide didn't just say that in the first place) Once I found the network, should have been smooth sailing, but no Connecting to the "linksys smart wi-fi" website was a pain (be sure to find the small print that says your router password is "admin" and not the password you just used to get on the network) And there was no automatic setup process, as indicated in the quick setup guide Took a while to figure out what I was supposed to do--I basically just did everything available to me on the site and prayed I would finally get online
And, after another 20 minutes of wandering around the linksys smart wi-fi site trying to figure out why I was connected wirelessly but not actually to the Internet (turns out that I failed to plug the jack back into the router post-earlier troubleshooting d'oh!), I was finally able to do a speed check The router has minimally increased the download speed--from 7-8 to 12--and upload speed--4-5 to 8 I was expecting quite a bit more from this router, so I'm a little disappointed That said, a good router can only do so much if the ISP is under-performing (and my company is)
I'll have to wait and see if there's any significant speed improvements from this router, so for now, I'm holding at 3 stars
