Q:

can you tell me the warmth level of this coat? is it warm enough to wear in the winter in NY or is it considered a fall coat?

Diane M.  asked on  Jan 23, 2013

A:

These are both fall/winter coats. For coldest weather conditions, they suggest layering.

Patrick S.  from  Self  replied on  Jan 25, 2013

Q:

How heavy is the Hyde Coat? In other words, what temp weather is is appropriate for? Is it waterproof or water resistant? Looking for something that is fairly light weight.

Dana S.  asked on  Jan 23, 2013

A:

The Aviator is a wool melton. This pressed wool fabric is water resistant by nature. Water resistant fabrics will keep the wearer dry in light showers or snowfall but will not under heavier rain. The Hyde is cotton twill. It is neither waterproof or water resistant.

Q:

Which parts of the coat does the faux fur lining cover? Ie. sleeves chest etc

Abeeha S.  asked on  Jan 24, 2013

A:

The front and back body have a detachable ACRYLIC/POLY Sherpa lining with polyfill sleeves lined with polyester. The detachable liner is thus composed of body and sleeves that can be fully removed so the jacket can be worn in spring time as well.

Q:

Two questions - 1. is the fur faux? 2. Do you know for what temperature these coats are rated?

Sandi D.  asked on  Jan 23, 2013

A:

Sorry for the delay! The detachable faux fur lining in the Hyde coat is not real. The hood trim is real, natural coyote fur from the USA.

These are both fall/winter coats. For coldest weather conditions, they suggest layering or wearing down.
