Meghan Trainor’s “All About That Bass” became ubiquitous on pop radio with its body-positive lyrics and soul-infused hooks, earning plaudits from publications such as Newsday, which called the tune “a sweet delight on every level.” Title, featuring “All About That Bass,” is Trainor’s first studio album, offering tunes with a classic feel mixed with plenty of sass.

History

Massachusetts native Trainor, now 21, was signed to a Nashville company to start writing songs when she was in high school; artists such as Hunter Hayes and Rascal Flatts have recorded tunes that feature her lyrics. She wasn’t signed to her own recording contract until February 2014.

Chart Topper

“All About That Bass” spent eight weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and eight weeks at the top spot of the publication’s Streaming Songs chart. The song also racked up No. 1 spots on iTunes, Shazam, and Spotify’s charts.
