Connecting the Apple Watch Series 5 to a cellular network requires that it share the same carrier as your iPhone. Please note that some carriers may support the iPhone, but not the Apple Watch. Please confirm with your carrier that it supports Apple Watch on their network. Currently, the Series 5 is supported by AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile. This Apple Watch Series 5 is compatible with Nike+ apps and exclusive watch faces, such as the Nike Run Club and Nike Training Club. The Nike Run Club app features audio-guided runs every week with the voice of a guest coach, a curated soundtrack, detailed in-run metrics, and even custom cheers. The Nike Training Club app provides over 180 free workouts from world-class Nike Master Trainers. It will even notify you with workout recommendations that you can do to close your exercise ring for the day.

The optical heart sensor on the back of the Apple Watch is designed to measure and record your heart rate. Irregular heart rhythms (arrhythmias), high heart rates, and low heart rates, can all be indicators of a possible underlying problem. The Apple Watch is engineered to monitor this reading and alert you to any irregularities.

The built-in titanium electrode in the digital crown and the sapphire crystal electronic heart sensor on the back of the Apple Watch gives you the ability to record your own ECG, or electrocardiogram. It's similar to a single-lead electrocardiogram and takes only 30 seconds to create. Just touch the digital crown and the Apple Watch generates your ECG waveform in approximately 30 seconds.
The ECG app is meant to help you detect whether you're heart's beating at a normal sinus rhythm, or if your rhythm shows signs of irregularity, or atrial fibrillation. Your ECGs are stored in the Health app on your iPhone and you can share them with your doctor.
