How did you come up with the idea for this product?

Glukos founder Mark Jensen is a former Nike guy and collegiate runner who challenged, "There must be a better energy solution than the high-fructose, red dye 40 and chemical-ridden options of Powerade and Gatorate." He worked on his MBA thesis with the Nike Innovation Lab, and world-class coaches and runners, to identify the world's best performing, all-natural energy solution. The athletes told him, "Give me an oral IV". What is an IV? Water, electrolytes and GLUCOSE.

What makes your product special?

Glucose is the only fuel that drives our bodies. It needs no digestion, so it's available as fuel to your body 2X faster than fructose or sucrose. It lasts two times as long, giving your body more sustained energy.

What has been the best part of your startup experience?

Solving a problem that athletes face every day, and sometimes the best solution to a problem is the easiest. Athletes of all ages deserve a product that provides the fuel they need to perform at the highest level, without all the hard to pronounce ingredients currently found in the marketplace. Glukos is the solution to this problem, and it is made with only the ingredients athletes need, and nothing else.
