Japanese White Spruce Pine, Picea, Tree Seeds Bonsai Evergreen

The White Spruce (Picea) is a Large Coniferous Evergreen Tree which normally grows 49~98 foot tall, but can reach heights of up to 138 feet tall, with a trunk diameter of a little over 3 feet wide. The crown is narrow in younger trees while becoming cylindrical in older ones. The bark is a pale buff~brown, and the needles are a glaucous blue green hue making them really stand out whether grown naturally or as a bonsai. The cones are cylindrical, slender, and around and inch wide maximum. Starting green, the mature to a reddish to pale brown color.
Common uses for the White Spruce is being used for pulpwood, lumber, furniture, while more elegant uses include sounding boards for pianos and violins. It also makes one of the most beautiful Christmas Trees with it's cylindrical shape and blueish green hues. The tough pliable roots were once used by Indians to lace birchbark canoes and to make woven baskets.
The White Spruce is also very easy to transplant, withstands wind, cold, drought, and light shade.

Soil: Moderately moist, and well~drained. Drought tolerant.
Growth Rate: Moderate; yet slow with Summer heat.
Germination:
Soak them for 24 hours in water. Then place them in a bag of moist peat moss for 90 days in the fridge around 40 degrees F. After that, sow them in moist, well drained soil at appx. 1/8" deep.
