These are truley high waisted, I am 5'9'' and can never find shorts that come up to my waist, these do. Also like the length, I am 63 years young and modest, so these cover nicely, and good compression. I wore these today doing 4 miles, very sweaty and had no rubbing anywhere, Will be getting more. The only thing that could make them better would be a inside pocket for keys,
