Actually quite dangerous as the edges are very SHARP! Should be sold in some sort of sleeve to protect hands when the item is placed with other items in the utensil drawer. It does function very well but most of the cooks I gave it to were quite wary of having it in their kitchens where a helpful guest/assistant might be caught unaware & possibly injured
