Its first basketball outing for this generation of consoles, EA harnesses the PS4 and XBox One's processing power to make NBA Live 14 hyper-realistic. The new bounceTek engine lends natural movement to the basketball itself, calculating every dribble and rebound with a complex physics model. Players also move, pass, and shoot like the real thing, with more than 70 stats—updated after every real-world NBA game—dictating their performances. Multiple play modes, including Live Season, Ultimate Team, and Rising Star, immerse gamers in every aspect of the sport, from developing a rookie into an MVP over the course of several seasons or managing an entire team. And, of course, the visuals are decidedly detailed as well, with a face-modeling system that animates each player's face with the thrill of victory, sting of defeat, and whether or not they're thinking about ice cream.
