Q:

do you have to subscribe or pay for additional access to an internet service provider? Like Time warner or AT&T? Does it use wi-fi or need wifi? Seems too good to be true so i am wondering what it is i do not know that i should know. Thanks.

A:

This would only serve as a WiFi adapter. You would still need access to a wireless network.

Q:

HI I was curious about the Netgear $10 wireless USB. I need a little more info to understand, I am not tech savvy. Coul I provide this to my dad in CT who doesn't have internet access. WOuld he be able to immediately connect or he needs service and then link the two together? I was looking at Cricket wireless but that had a monthly fee so I wasn't sure what I was missing with this NetGear USB. ANy clarification would be appreciated.

Ventrice H.  asked on  Dec 10, 2012

A:

This is only an adapter to connect to a wireless network. It does not include any sort of internet service. For example, if you had a desktop computer with only a wired internet port, but had a wireless router, you could plug this into your desktop computer to connect to the network wirelessly rather than running a cable to the router.

Q:

Two questions regarding this product... First - will it work with Windows 8? Second - Will I receive this item before Christmas if I purchase today? Thanks!

Briana W.  asked on  Dec 10, 2012

A:

This should still be compatible with Windows 8. Most orders are delivered within 2 1/2 weeks from the purchase date. It may arrive sooner, but we would not be able to guarantee a delivery date. Tracking information would be provided once the item ships.

Q:

Who is the server if you are using this adapter? Do I pay extra fees for using some other server? thanks, adina

adina z.  asked on  Dec 10, 2012

A:

This would provide a wireless connection to a wireless network if your computer does not have built-in WiFi support. You would still need an internet service provider to connect to the internet.

Rip C.  asked on  Dec 10, 2012

A:

Hi Rip. You would still need a wireless network for the actual internet service. This would simply serve as a wireless network adapter if your computer did not have one built in.
