Commonly Asked Questions

Q:

How long are the needles? I'm not asking the diameter of the needles. I am asking the length of the needles. Judge by the picture, there is no way the needles are 0.2 MILLIMETERS long.

Chengying J.  asked on  Apr 6, 2013

A:

The ORA roller has a 0.2mm depth, which is the safest depth for someone who has never used a needle roller, as it is recommended to start at 0.2mm needle length. If you are new to needle rolling therapy it is strongly advised to take a 0.2mm roller which is the correct depth to take as any higher depth is discouraged. Once you feel that you can handle deeper depths then you can consider a higher depth roller.

Q:

How long does the roller last, aka: how many personal treatments.

Tamara M.  asked on  Apr 6, 2013

A:

The ORA roller can be used for multiple treatments and should last you a long time as long as the needles remain in good condition. There is no set limit to how many treatments you can do with one roller, as it is completely reusable. Moreover, this new version of the roller is manufactured with cutting-edge Disc Needle Technology that produces the highest durability needles that remain in perfect condition without breaking over multiple treatments.

Q:

When I read about similar rollers they suggest a minimum of 1.5 cm? Do you have any that are larger then the .2cm that is on the groupon?

karen C.  asked on  Apr 8, 2013

A:

While there are rollers of different lengths, the 0.2mm roller length is the safest introductory depth for someone who has never used a needle roller, as it is recommended to start at 0.2mm needle length. If you are new to needle rolling therapy it is strongly advised to take a 0.2mm roller which is the correct depth to take as any higher depth is discouraged. Once you feel that you can handle deeper depths then you can consider a higher depth roller. With that said, though, it is not likely you will want to change to a higher depth for at least a year or so.

Q:

I apologize for this...but it appears that you can purchase an item exactly like this for less than $19.99. How is this item $150 originally, and if so...how is it better than what you can buy on Amazon?

Kirsten T.  asked on  Apr 7, 2013

A:

As with anything, not all rollers are created equal and you get what you pay for when you purchase a cheap item. The ORA Roller is made with the highest medical grade stainless steel, whereas many rollers sold on the market use cheaper materials that lead to discomfort and poor treatment results. Additionally, this is a 540-needle roller which is a higher grade roller than the standard 200 needle rollers. Moreover, the 540 needles of the ORA Roller are arranged in precise rows, whereas many other rollers have uneven rows leading the treatment area to have sub-optimal results and greater discomfort. Moreover, many rollers are made with needles that are not durable that often bend or break after one use. In contrast, the ORA Roller is manufactured with cutting-edge Disc Needle Technology that produces the highest durability needles that remain in perfect condition without breaking over multiple treatments. When it comes to a roller that is applied on your face, it is advised to get the highest quality roller that you can get.

Does this help with internal scar tissue.

The roller helps reduce the appearance of scars and to smooth uneven skin texture. As a result, it may indirectly help smooth internal scar tissue with repeated use of the roller.

Q:

Concerning an acne scar, is it more effective to use a cream with the roller vs. the roller alone? If so, what type of cream can work?

trisha  asked on  Apr 7, 2013

A:

If you are going to use a cream, you should use it both before and following the use of the roller as the roller helps increase the absorption of creams. There are scar reduction gels made of silicone that are very popular with people with scars as they help reduce the appearance of scars.

Q:

Can this size needle be used on skin around my eyes (crows feet) or lines on upper lip as well as stretch marks on thicker skinned areas? Which part of the face/body this sized needle most effective?

doreen j.  asked on  Apr 7, 2013

You can use the ORA Roller under the eye area for fine lines and wrinkles as long as you are very careful and not too close to the eye. The ORA Roller can be used effectively on all areas of the face and body.

Q:

OK, everyone else has asked about the roller itself but not how to use it. How often is it recommened to be used? Daily, multiple times a day, weekly? And are there any products or types of skin products you should avoid using in conjunction with this roller?

Barbara S.  asked on  Apr 7, 2013

A:

First, the roller comes with detailed instructions on how to use it so when you receive it you will be able to review the instructions on the packaging as well. The roller should be used every 3-5 days and not less than that. Make sure you clean your needle roller thoroughly and return it to its case after its use. Also, there are no products that are indicated to not be used with the roller.

Here are the instructions for use:

Step 1: Before use, make sure your roller is disinfected using alcohol or a roller sterilizer. Step 2: Do not force the roller into the skin but simply use mild pressure. Step 3: Roll back and forth at the same intensity on the treatment area 5-10 times in each of the four directions - horizontally, vertically, and diagonally (see diagrams). Step 4: Following treatment, apply post-rolling care solutions such as soothing masks, serums, creams.

You can use the roller every 3-5 days or space treatments longer in between each depending on your results.
