About Pfaltzgraff
Pfaltzgraff traces its history back nearly two centuries to the 1830s, when Johann Pfaltzgraff and his wife came to America from Germany. He became a successful potter who passed his work down to his descendants, but the family business remained small until 1894, when Henry and George Pfaltzgraff expanded outside the home and built their first stoneware factory in south central Pennsylvania. From there, the brand took off. By 1960, Pfaltzgraff had opened its first outlet store, and by the early 2000s, there were more than 70 stores nationwide. Today Pfaltzgraff has moved on from its own outlet stores but still sells a wide variety of dinnerware, serveware, drinkware, flatware, and more that looks at home in nearly any kitchen or dining room.
