Commonly Asked Questions

Q:

Is this the Clarisonic Pro Sonic? Who is the manufacturer?

Kate C.  asked on  Dec 15, 2012

A:

ProSonic is a different brand from Clarisonic, yet it has the same efficacy when it comes to cleansing, has a similar mechanism of action, but is sold for more than half the price of the 3-speed Clarisonic devices (sold at $200 or more). Prosonic is the only comparable professional-level home device available at this price over the internet with 3 speeds (for sensitive skin, normal skin, body mode), compared with other brands like Clariosnic on the market that go for double or triple the price of Prosonic. ProSonic is 6 times more effective at removing dirt, makeup, oily patches, and skin impurities than cleansing your face (and body) with your hands or washcloth. Moreover, unlike many models of Clarisonic, this ProSonic set comes with 3 brush heads (sensitive, normal, and body brush) and a free 1 ounce cleanser and 1 ounce microdermabrasion cream. The Prosonic sold here is a newly improved version and the device launched a year ago and is made with the latest sonic and pulsating technology for cleansing and exfoliating. ProSonic has been selling for over a year and it now newly improved with the additional rotation feature.

Q:

I am very excited about this product, and am excited to try it :) If there is an issue with the product, or if it stops working shortly after receiving/after a couple uses (that's what some reviews suggest could happen) what is the number we can call for customer service?

Jessika C.  asked on  Dec 18, 2012

A:

Hi Jessika! As this is a newly improved second generation version of the Prosonic, defects are very unlikely to occur as each unit has been machine-tested and stress tested and the battery life has been extended and you should not encounter any issues. The defects you have heard about are rare and have occurred in less than 1% of the units.

The ProSonic system is backed by a one year warranty. The warranty is provided with the system along with the manufacturer’s contact information.

Q:

I am a licensed esthetician. Sanitation is very important to my career. How do I clean the brush heads after I used it on a client? I usually use Barbicide to clean the utensils before I put them under the UV light. Barbicide is a strong chemical destroy most germs, but it dissolve some plastics. too. Can you tell me if the material will be dissolved by Barbicide? Thank you.

XIAOLEI C.  asked on  Dec 18, 2012

A:

Hi Xiaolei! We do not recommend the Prosonic brush heads for use on multiple clients. We suggest that you use a different brush head for each person. Replacement Prosonic brush heads, as well as other Prosonic accessories and beauty products, can be purchased from the BeautyORA web site, so search for it and you'll find it.

For personal use, it is recommended to clean the brush head once a week with antibacterial soap or liquid. To clean, remove the brush head from the device and wash with soapy, warm water. It is recommended to replace the brush head every 3-6 months (depending on how often you use it) as the brush bristles become worn and less effective over time. We do not know what effect Barbicide would have on the brushes.

Q:

Since the brushes need to be changed every 3-6 months, where would new ones be ordered from? Also, where can the cleanser be ordered from if I wish to purchase more of it?

Elaina O.  asked on  Dec 17, 2012

A:

First, you should know that the Prosonic Set in this Groupon deal comes with three brushes (one for normal skin, sensitive skin, and body brush), as well as a luxurious cleanser and microdermabrasion cream ($45 value). Brushes should be replaced every every 3-6 months, depending on how often you cleanse with ProSonic. You can purchase the device, brush heads, the cleanser and microdermabrasion cream, and other ProSonic accessories at the brand site at BeautyORA, so search it online and you'll find it.

Hi Carol, thanks for asking. The machine does not beep as you can cleanse the entire face for example within 1 minute and simply pass the device over each area a few times.
