Q:

I would like to securely join two sde-by-side twin beds and cover their mattresses with a 2" king topper. Will that work - and be a fairly comfortable king bed? Terri

theresa k.  asked on  Jan 5, 2013

A:

Hi Theresa, you can do that but if you have a dip in the middle of the beds the topper will dip a little too, there's really no way around that. As long as you don't sleep right in the middle it should be fine.

Q:

I've heard some brands of memory foam smell really bad. If that's the case, can we return it as defective? I have no other way of determining this online. Also, I'd note that this is not much of a better deal than can be found at other online retailers.

Emily S.  asked on  Jan 3, 2013

A:

Hi Emily, there are some people that are sensitive to the natural smell of foam. Also, foam had a bad reputation in the past because of its odor - that may be what you are thinking of. We use processes and ingredients that greatly minimize the natural harmless smell of freshly made foam and our foam gives off no toxic gases whatsoever. The terms of this promotion only allow for returns for defective or damaged merchandise, and natural odors do not fall within that category. However if you have any issues please let us know and we may be able to replace your topper. I'm not familiar with the ads you are referring to and the types of toppers and quality of foam vary considerably (e.g. many use inferior imported Chinese foam). Our foam is 100% USA made and is CertiPur-US certified.

Q:

I'm interested the queen size 2" topper. What is the weight of this topper? Can a new topper remain wrapped without opening for up to three months or more?

Gloria C.  asked on  Jan 3, 2013

A:

The weight is 26 lbs. We recommend not keeping your topper wrapped for that length of time, the sooner you can open the box and let the foam expand to its natural shape, the better.

Q:

I have an antique 4 poster bed that has both an irregular shape and size. Is it possible to cut the foam with shears or large scissors to accomodate? Or would that cause shredding or any other undesirable result? Thanks!

Forrest J.  asked on  Jan 3, 2013

A:

Hi Forrest, it is possible to cut the topper with a very sharp knife but you have to be very careful not to tear it. When cutting hold the foam firmly in place but do NOT pull on it, and you should always cut it only with a firm surface underneath.

Q:

Is the memory foam topper covered? I have one with a zip on cover and love it?

Paula j.  asked on  Jan 2, 2013

A:

Hi Paula, we do not use a cover on these toppers. Not having a cover allows the foam to breathe freely and maximizes it's special temperature and comfort features, keeping it as close to your body as possible without too many layers of fabric in between. If you are worried about protecting the topper, you can place it underneath a mattress cover - it's a great way to protect both your topper and your mattress from stains. Some of our customers complained in the past about the difficulty in removing toppers from their covers and then putting them back on, especially for the larger, heavier sizes.

Q:

Do you tuck the top sheet under the foam topper or tuck the sheet under both the pillow top mattress and foam topper? I don't think my king size sheets will tuck under both. Solution? JoAnn Kenton jkenton@cox.net

joannkenton  asked on  Jan 2, 2013

A:

Hi Joann thought I answered this but I'll resend to be safe. You can tuck the top sheet under either but we really recommend using a good quality mattress cover over both your topper and mattress to protect them from stains. Then your fitted sheet on top of that. If you want to just tuck the top sheet under the topper that's fine. The key is to make sure you have a large enough fitted sheet to cover everything including the mattress cover. we design the toppers to work with "standard" sheet sets but that's with the newer type in mind that tend to be a bit larger than the older styles used to be.

Q:

Hi, How would this work on top of the wood in a platform style bed without using a mattress?

leilani  asked on  Jan 2, 2013

A:

The topper is made to go on top of a mattress and provide an additional comfort and support layer. it is not meant to go directly on top of a foundation like a wood platform.
