Rhodia
In 1934, Marie Verilhac sat at the kitchen table, sketching. She drew two trees, similar but not identical, to represent her two sons, Samuel and Albert Verilhac. Then, she connected the trees by a fine line, symbolizing the way her sons worked together. Those sketches turned into the logo for Rhodia, which would be emblazoned across the cover of her sons’ signature orange notebooks.
The orange cover hasn’t changed since the 1930s, and neither has the company’s commitment to quality materials. The coated card covers are waterproof to guard against spills, and they’re also scored to fold back neatly. Superfine vellum paper feels smooth and satiny to the touch. Each sheet is microperforated so it’s easy to make clean tears without hedge clippers, and pale violet lines or grids guide writers as they work.
