Commonly Asked Questions

Q:

What is the Firmness of this Mattress?

Eunice L.  asked on  Nov 27, 2013

A:

This mattress is designed to be a plush Beautyrest mattress. It uses Simmons' 15.5 gauge high carbon finer steel for the coils which provides a plush feel. However, Simmons uses so many coils compared to other manufacturers that the mattress is more of a medium plush feel. On a scale of 1-10 where 1 is the softest and 10 is the firmest this mattress would be estimated at a “4.” Coil Counts (Twin = 422 density, Full = 617 density, Queen = 800 density, King = 1047 density, Cal King 1077 density).

Q:

What's the difference between a plush top, and a pillow top. Which one is better?

M. B.  asked on  Dec 1, 2013

A:

A pillow top has a separate plush layer on top of the mattress generally used to create softer feels. Neither is better, as it boils down to a preference in comfort for the sleeper.

Q:

Realistically... With normal sleep habits, how long would this mattress last?

M. B.  asked on  Dec 1, 2013

A:

The average replacement cycle on a mattress is 8-10 years but this is primarily due to comfort changes and not the product being wore out. You should easily get well over 10 years of normal use out of this mattress.

Q:

The first two pictures (full mattress view) and the last two pictures (the sliced view) don't match. The sliced view pics look like a pillow-top mattress, there is quite a bit of height (grey) from the coils. The full mattress pics didn't show this. Which pictures are the real product for sale here?

Lala P.  asked on  Dec 1, 2013

A:

The cross-sections are just for general illustrative purposes, and the actual mattress would be as pictured in the photos.

Can box spring and matteress be used for a platform bed. This bed has never had a box spring before.

Madelyn M.  asked on  Nov 27, 2013

The deal is only available in complete sets so your purchase will include the box springs. However, as long as you understand that, you may use just the mattress on a platform bed.
