About Tom Ford

In 2005, after a decade-long stint at Gucci, Tom Ford launched his eponymous brand. In addition to a collection of optical frames and sunglasses, he partnered with Estée Lauder to produce a beauty line with fragrances and cosmetics. Next, he launched a menswear and accessory collection and opened his New York flagship store, whose doors appear only by tapping a certain nondescript brick four times. His women’s-wear collection debuted with participation from style icons such as Lauren Hutton and Beyoncé. In addition to winning five separate honors from the Council of Fashion Designers of America, Ford has snagged British GQ’s International Man of the Year Award, title of Best Fashion Designer by TIME Magazine, GQ USA’s Designer of the Year, and GQ Russia’s Man of the Decade.
