About Schick

With stints in the military and in the mining industry in both Alaska and British Columbia, Lt. Col. Jacob Schick was very much accustomed to extreme outdoor conditions. But when the temperature dropped well below zero, he found it difficult and uncomfortable to shave, so he began looking for ways to make the process easier. He soon came up with two solutions. The first was a dry shaver that didn’t require water or lather, and was powered by electricity. The second was the military-inspired Magazine Repeating Razor, which he designed with a handle that stored replacement blades and moved them into shaving position with much less chance of an accident. In short time, both products became a hit, and the Schick name was established. Today, Schick’s legacy lives on through multiple varieties of razors for both men and women, all of which place a high premium on comfort and safety.
