Commonly Asked Questions

Q:

Do NoOodle Noodles need to be refrigerated? What is their shelf life?

Roger L.  asked on  Jan 10, 2013

A:

These noodles do not require refrigeration. They have an expiration date of 5 months but they last for years in the original packaging. No bacteria can grow where their is no calories present. Thanks!

Q:

I am interested in buying these. Do you have to cook them, it says rinse but I don't understand. Do you cook them in water like pasta?

Kathy P.  asked on  Jan 10, 2013

A:

Sorry for the confusion. The best way is cook plain Nooodles is to put them in a colander and rinse them for one minute. You can then cut them to the desired length and put them into a skillet on medium heat to "dry fry" them. Then, just top them with your favorite sauce!

More Questions and Answers

Q:

I bought these on Groupon the last time they were available and I just realized they expire this month. Do these expire this month as well? I wasn't too pleased about that. The texture is very odd and is taking time to get used to, but I am glad it comes with the recipes. I only tried it once and I didn't like the recipe for the "Mac and Cheese" but I figured I'd give it another shot because of the no calories.

Q:

A friend of mine told me about noodles like these called shirataki. He said they could have an offputting smell until you rinsed them. Is this true with this brand too?

Barb R.  asked on  Jan 10, 2013

A:

That is correct! The smell is from the lime (calcium hydroxide) and you can simply rinse it away!
