Q:

Hi, thanks for taking questions. You covered much of what I was wondering but just to confirm... if I get the 24 sessions but then stop (I may be relocating) will whatever progress I've made possibly be lost? Thanks!

Robert M.  asked on  Aug 18, 2012

A:

Sorry to get back to you so late. But to answer your question, Yes, whatever progress you make with the laser program will be lost, unless you can find a company that does the same thing where you are relocating to. This is a maintenence program that helps you keep from lossing anymore hair. The recommendations for this program are as follow: 2 times a week for the 1st 3-4 months, then once a week for the next 3-4 months, then once every other week for the next 3 months, until you are only coming once a month. I hope this helps. Thanks!

Q:

I'm on high blood pressure medicine, which I understand can thin hair, with treatments and continuing to take medication, will I benefit from hair treatments. Also, I am a woman and thinning in the same area (top of head) where my older sister thinned.. if this is genetics, will I benefit from hair treatments?

Marlene G.  asked on  Aug 17, 2012

A:

Yes, in some instances blood pressure medication can thin out hair follicles, but more often it is due to genetics. What the laser treatments can do for you is help maintain what you have as well as possibly thicken hair follicles. Thanks!

Q:

Is it typical to experience a "shedding effect" with the laser therapy? Just curious if I would lose the thinning hair I have on top. Thanks!

Ryan W.  asked on  Aug 17, 2012

A:

No, the laser helps keep what you have so you don't loss any more. Thanks!

Hello, Do you see Dr. Gianotto during the 1st consultation? Also, who performs the actual laser treatments? Dr. G. or his nurse? Thanks, A.

Yes, Dr. Giannotto will come & meet you, as long as he is not in surgery. The laser treatments are administered by a machine. You sit under the lasers in a chair.

Q:

If hair loss is due to hormonal issues /stress that are as yet unresolved, is there a point to laser treatment before the other issues are resolved? Won't hair just continue to thin out?

Barbara N.  asked on  Aug 14, 2012

A:

Some hair loss is related to hormonal/stress, but more often it is due to genetics. The laser can help you maintain what you have so you don't loss any more, while you are working to get the stress out of your life. Thanks!

Q:

How many treatments are typically needed? What is the typical treatment schedule (# per week/month/etc.)?

Jenny K.  asked on  Aug 13, 2012

A:

It depends on you hair loss, or thinning. 24 sessions is ideal for just thinning hair, and to see any improvement. And typically we recommended twice a week to begin with.
