Currently in its 57th year, the Gilbert and Sullivan Light Opera Company of Long Island stands as a champion of the classic comedic operas of W.S. Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan. This spring, the curtain opens upon The Sorcerer, supported by a passionate cast of melodious thespians, an 18-piece orchestra, and an elaborate network of pulleys and ropes. One of Gilbert and Sullivan's first full-length operettas, The Sorcerer follows the tale of two betrothed lovers, Alexis and Aline, who engage the help of a sorcerer in order to make others feel as infatuated as they do. Chaos ensues when characters begin to fall in love with the wrong persons while hitting the right notes.
