What You'll Get
Musicians have always been cherished by society, from the lyre players of ancient Greece to the electric-lyre players who invented rock ‘n’ roll at Woodstock. Revel in modern music-making with today’s deal to see the all-ages LG Ones to Watch Presents 100 Monkeys show, featuring openers The Kissing Club, Electric Attitude, and Bleeding Horse Express, at the House of Blues Houston on Friday, August 5, at 8 p.m. Doors open at 7 p.m. for general admission and 6 p.m. for VIP admission. Choose between the following options:
• For $11, you get one general-admission floor ticket (a $16 value before fees, or up to a $21.85 value online, including all ticketing fees).
• For $54, you get one VIP-admission ticket, including early entrance, access to the sound-check party, and an exclusive piece of artist merchandise (a $100 value before fees, or up to a $108.56 value online, including all ticketing fees).
LG Ones to Watch immerses fans in the raucous, utterly frenetic antics of funk-rock band 100 Monkeys. The five-member troupe of tunesmiths includes Jackson Rathbone, beloved by fans of the Twilight series as vampire Jasper Hale. Known for its Monkey Switcheroo, the group swaps instruments and vocalists throughout its eccentric sets, casting off old-fashioned notions of monogamy between humans and guitars. Lending songful support, Electric Attitude catapults chunks of funk, Bleeding Horse Express smuggles southern rock from Vancouver, and The Kissing Club drops a payload of infectiously folksy notes with the power to make left and right ears forget their longstanding feuds with each other.
With VIP admission, devout fans can storm the venue at 6 p.m., beating the throngs and basking in the first whiffs of the night’s piquant pop. VIPs are also privy to a sound-check party, and each VIP receives an exclusive piece of artist merchandise, just the thing for covering up a colorful back tattoo of Millard Fillmore before a job interview.
